Dr Sonia Fullerton was appointed Chief Medical Officer (acting) of Peter Mac on 1 July 2023. She is a palliative care physician with more than 20 years’ experience. Dr Fullerton holds a Master of Health Service Management and was appointed Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Peter Mac in 2022.
Dr Fullerton is an ambassador for Advance Care Planning Australia and speaks to varied audiences about advance care planning. She recently received her Graduate Diploma in digital and social media and collaborated with Swinburne University project teams to produce animated educational videos on advance care planning for patients and staff.
Dr Fullerton’s interests include health service management, symptom management, advance care planning, and health-related social media and engagement. She has a deep understanding of the Parkville Precinct’s EPIC electronic medical record system, having received training to undertake basic building in EPIC as a physician builder. She is also the EPIC electronic medical record trainer for her team.
