Peter Mac welcomes visitors, with patients in our acute hospital wards able to have up to two (2) visitors at a time. All visitors will be provided with a surgical mask to wear.
Peter Mac’s Palliative Care Ward does not have any restrictions on visitor numbers. Patients attending Peter Mac's outpatient units may able to be accompanied by one support person.
Visitor information on checking in
Our check in system allows patients, visitors, carers and others to answer screening questions and have their temperature taken by a device similar to an iPad.
The system is in place at our Melbourne, Box Hill and Sunshine campuses with multiple language options available for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse patients.
Staff are on-hand to assist patients and visitors, and provide further information.
Visitors and patients are reminded to always:
-
wear a mask
-
maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres where possible
-
follow the instructions of staff at all times
Visitor information for end-of-life care
There are no limits on number of visitors for people receiving end of life care. We do ask that visits are limited to two (2) hours, and that they are pre-arranged with the Nurse Unit Manager. Mask requirements apply, as above.
Visitor information on accompanying an outpatient to Peter Mac
