The Victorian Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Service specialises in the care and support of Victorians experiencing cancer aged 15 to 25 years.

We understand the unique challenges of dealing with cancer at this stage of life. Staying engaged with the people, places and activities that matter to you is important. Our approach is about providing personalised care that is tailored to you and your needs. We consider your wellbeing as a whole, and support your connections to life outside of cancer.

Our approach is also inclusive of families, including support for partners and peers.

Accessing our service

The Victorian AYA Cancer Service is a state-wide service. You do not need to live in Melbourne or receive treatment at Peter Mac to access our services. We are a public health service and free (no cost) for most patients.

In-person appointments are usually held in the Youth Cancer Centre on Level 1 of Peter Mac’s Melbourne campus. You may also be able to have appointments by phone or online video (telehealth).

You need a referral from a member of your health care team to access our services. Feel free to contact us for more information about what we do and how we may be able to help in meeting your needs.
