Victoria Sharp

My ‘lived experience’ with cancer drives my desire to help the cancer community and improve the lives of others. By illuminating the key concerns of cancer patients, I hope to shine a spotlight on patient needs and contribute to better cancer care for all. Access to the best of cancer care is everyone’s business

Victoria Sharp has had a long and varied experience of cancer, with experience as both a patient and carer. She has been a patient of Peter Mac since 2015, and successfully participated in a clinical trial offering genomic testing and targeted treatment in 2017.

Victoria lives with her family on the Mornington Peninsula, where she enjoys the outdoor life whenever she can grab a spare moment.

Having been involved as a consumer on a number of clinical and research projects at Peter Mac and with the VCCC Alliance, Victoria joined the Community Advisory Committee in 2023. Her areas of interest extend to all cancers, with a special focus on familial cancers, personalised treatment and clinical trials.

Victoria Sharp believes that everyone deserves an opportunity to receive the best of treatment. To that end, she is committed to:

  • Understanding the consumer perspective through collaboration
  • advancing accessible services, especially for those living in remote and regional areas
  • elevating awareness, health literacy and patient facing information
  • accelerating research and consumer collaboration as a means of delivering positive outcomes to clinical practice.
