The Youth Cancer Centre is the home of the Victorian Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Service. You do not have to be a patient with our service to access the Centre. Young people and their families can come here to:
- relax while waiting for hospital appointments
- take time away from the ward if they are staying in hospital
- see a member of the Victorian AYA Cancer Service team
- attend some of our group programs
The Youth Cancer Centre features:
- a patient and family lounge
- a fully equipped kitchen
- work/study nooks
- semi-private rest spaces
- a multipurpose room (used for everything from movie nights to a yoga or music studio)
It also houses a broad range of information and resources. Young people receiving treatment at Peter Mac can also access or borrow these resources during hospital stays. Resources include:
- books
- games
- art supplies
- PlayStations
- DVD players and DVDs
- VR headsets
