The Youth Cancer Centre is the home of the Victorian Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Service. You do not have to be a patient with our service to access the Centre. Young people and their families can come here to:
- Relax while waiting for hospital appointments
- Take time away from the ward if they are staying in hospital
- See a member of the Victorian AYA Cancer Service team
- Attend some of our group programs
The Youth Cancer Centre features:
- A patient and family lounge
- A fully equipped kitchen
- Work/study nooks
- Semi-private rest spaces
- A multipurpose room (used for everything from movie nights to a yoga or music studio)
It also houses a broad range of information and resources. Young people receiving treatment at Peter Mac can also access or borrow these resources during hospital stays. Resources include:
- Books
- Games
- Art supplies
- PlayStations
- DVD players and DVDs
- VR headsets
