Biography

Dr Ebtihal H. Mustafa is an early career postdoctoral Scientist at the Clemons Laboratory. Ebtihal completed a PhD in Medicine at the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories (DRMCRL), The University of Adelaide. She was awarded a Beacon of Enlightenment Scholarship to undertake her PhD on novel therapeutic strategies for estrogen receptor negative breast cancer and was awarded the Australian Women in Endocrinology award in recognition of her PhD work. With a simple mission: To make a transformative impact on the clinical management of oesophageal cancer by developing novel treatment strategies, at Clemons Lab, Ebtihal is responsible for initiatives that use cutting-edge technology to functionally characterise the drivers of oesophageal tumourigenesis. The success of these studies builds on its unique expertise in CRISPR gene editing and single-cell RNA sequencing.
