Exercise Physiologist

Biography

Andrew is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist working at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and has over 15 years clinical experience in prescribing targeted exercise programs aimed at improving cancer patients’ outcomes through exercise. These interventions are provided by exercise delivery and include; health and physical activity education, advice and support; lifestyle modification and behavioural change interventions. He is currently employed with the ONTrac at Peter Mac service – a state wide Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA), multidisciplinary cancer service for those aged between 15 and 25 in Victoria.

Andrew completed his undergraduate studies at RMIT, holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Rehabilitation (Victoria University) and is currently undertaking a PhD at Deakin University. The aim of the thesis is to explore the long-term impact of cancer therapy in AYA survivors in regards to their cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition and health behaviours. Andrew has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences, delivered University lectures, authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and was the previous chair of the COSA Exercise and Cancer Group (2018-2021).
