Gynae-oncology focuses on cancers cancers of the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina and vulva.
The Gynae-oncology Service at Peter Mac includes all types and stages of gynaecological cancer, including those with uncommon or complex presentations.
Care is coordinated by a team of experts in surgical oncology, radiation oncology and medical oncology in association with specialist gynaecological nurse consultants, psychologists, social workers and palliative care professionals.
Written information will be provided to you at your appointment. Please write down any questions that you have before your appointment and bring them with you. It is also a good idea to bring support person with you to your appointment.
Your case will be discussed at a multi-disciplinary team meeting, ensuring you receive the best care and treatment plan.
As a tertiary training institution, education is a primary focus for Peter Mac. During your time at Peter Mac, you will meet health professionals training at varies stages of education. Your care will always be delivered under the direct supervision of senior specialist staff.
Like all Peter Mac’s tumour streams, the Gynae-oncology service is a collaboration with clinical partners, providing coordinated and comprehensive cancer care.
