Redefining survivorship – supporting people with treatable but not curable cancers

The Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre (ACSC), based at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac), together with the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia, the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia and Cancer Council Victoria and NSW are partnering to deliver this free webinar for health professionals about cancer survivorship for people with treatable but not curable cancers (including advanced and metastatic cancers).

The webinar will be facilitated by Associate Professor Nicolas Hart, an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow in Cancer Survivorship at the INSIGHT Research Institute, and Program Director of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Human Performance Research Centre and School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation at the University of Technology Sydney. His research focuses on improving outcomes for people living with advanced or metastatic cancer, canvassing survivorship and supportive care issues and cancer outcomes.

Associate Professor Nicolas Hart will lead a panel of experts and guide attendees through a comprehensive exploration of survivorship care for people with treatable but not curable cancer.

The panel of experts will include:

  • Dr Andrea Smith, Research Fellow, The Daffodil Centre, University of Sydney
  • Prof Melanie Lovell, Palliative Medicine Physician and Senior Staff Specialist, HammondCare, Greenwich Hospital
  • Megan McDowell, Specialist Myeloma Nurse, Myeloma Australia
  • Kim Hobbs, Oncology Social Worker, Westmead Hospital Sydney

This free webinar is open to all health professional interested in improving care and outcomes for this population group.
