Dr Susanne Ramm

Senior Research Officer, 2iC at VCFG

Biography

Dr Susanne Ramm joined Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in July 2019 as a Senior Research Officer (2iC) in the Victorian Centre for Functional Genomics (VCFG), where she supports compound screens, high-content imaging, and establishes novel 3D high-throughput screening pipelines. After completing her PhD in Toxicology and Pharmacology in Germany, Susanne worked as a Research Fellow and Group Leader at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Woman’s Hospital (Boston, USA) in Systems Biology and pre-clinical Renal Toxicology. Before relocating to Melbourne, Dr Ramm developed multiplexed high-content imaging screens of gastrointestinal 3D organoids and used them to assess the safety profile of WEE1 inhibitors in the Oncology Safety Department of AstraZeneca (Boston, USA). Working on her own highly multiplexed high-content imaging screens in the last years, she discovered her passion for the development of new imaging and Machine Learning analysis approaches for 3D organoids, pushing the boundaries of our current capabilities and thereby enabling exciting new discoveries.
