Professor Rob Ramsay

Biography

Rob has been (2018-22) the co-head of the gastrointestinal program at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, past president of the ASMR, NARF and is the current president of the ISSPP. He has had continuous NHMRC funding since 1991 and was a national research fellow for 21 years. He has more than 200 research publications. He is a Professor in the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology and Clinical Pathology, The University of Melbourne.

Rob is a current member of the AGITG Lower GI Working Party, served on the ASM committee since 2014, SAC since 2021 and has led the ASM Translational Research Committee since 2018. He will be appointed as an AGITG board member in May 2022. He is most proud of the 35 PhD students who have graduated from his lab, 15 of whom are medical oncologists or surgeons.
