Biography
Marina Nguyen is a clinical oncology dietitian currently working within the lung, urology, and head and neck clinical streams. She is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD), and a current member of Dietitians Australia. She graduated from her Master of Dietetics at Monash University, after having also completed a Bachelor of Nutrition Science at Monash University and a Bachelor of Science (Food Science major) at The University of Melbourne.
Marina constantly strives towards providing her patients with the highest quality of patient-centred care. She enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to help empower her patients to optimise their nutrition, and enhance their overall quality of life. She understands the associated nutrition-related side effects of various types of cancers and cancer treatments, and aims to provide compassionate care and targeted advice to help prevent malnutrition within this group.
Prior to her current role, Marina has also worked as a dietetic health consultant for a corporate health and wellbeing company. She also has 8 years of experience working at the Monash University Eastern Health Clinical School, where she developed her research and laboratory skills as a member of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Gastroenterology Laboratory team.
Marina understands that every patient’s cancer journey is unique, and is determined to use her skills to provide them with the utmost care through evidence-based management.
