Biography

Associate Professor Andrew Wirth is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, with clinical expertise in thoracic oncology and lymphoma management. Associate Professor Wirth is the Director of Peter Mac atBox Hill and the head of the haematology radiotherapy team. He has trained in both medical and radiation oncology, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at The Univesity of Melbourne.
 
 Associate Professor Wirth's research interests include the palliative treatment of lung cancer, the management of early stage Hodgkin lymphoma, the incorporation on radiation therapy with autologous transplants for lymphomas and the use of PET scanning for staging and response assessment in lymphomas. He is on the UICC TNM lymphoma staging comittee, a founding member on the Board of the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group, on the Editorial Board of Leukemaia and Lymphoma, is a reviewer for a number of journals, has presented at a number of national and international scientific meetings and is an author on over 80 peer reviewed publications.
