Peter Mac at Home: Nursing in the home

Peter Mac at Home provides specialised cancer care in the home.

The service provides in-home care - such as chemotherapy and post-treatment care - for Peter Mac patients. A nurse visits to provide this care.

You may require the service for a short time after surgery or you may require ongoing care after chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Services offered

  • nursing assessment and care related to your cancer treatment
  • acute wound management
  • central line management
  • injections
  • radiation therapy reaction skin care
  • drain tube management
  • some forms of chemotherapy and other intravenous (into the vein) infusions
  • vacuum-assisted wound management.

Service times

Peter Mac at Home can be contacted Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and on the weekends from 8 am to 4 pm.

Home nursing visits take place between 8 am and 4 pm, seven days a week, every day of the year.
