The radiation therapy research program focuses on both technological and patient care research with a drive for innovation and translation to clinical practice. Technology is constantly evolving and radiation therapists play a key role in investigating, testing and implementing new techniques with sound evidence-based practices. Our research is also heavily aimed at improving the patient experience, relieving treatment-related anxiety and improving patient’s clinical outcomes and quality of life. The team frequently presents at national and international conferences, publishes in scientific journals and a number of our radiation therapists are principal investigators on clinical trials.
Our group also collaborates with the broader multidisciplinary oncology team and contributes to small- and large-scale clinical trials. We also collaborate with other radiation therapy centers and universities and support students undertaking higher degrees by research.
