CASCADE is a research program enrolling patients with advanced metastatic disease who consent to undergo rapid autopsy following death.
Individuals with metastatic disease are consented to CASCADE when they reach the end of life stage, and understand that there are no further curative options available. Tissue donated to CASCADE is used in research aimed at improving outcomes for people with metastatic cancer.
There are several active research projects enabled by CASCADE donors including laboratory based research into breast, ovarian, melanoma, prostate and lung cancer as well as psycho-social research.
