Exploration of doctors' views about suffering. A qualitative study investigating the perception of and responses to suffering of doctors caring for patients who are seriously ill

This study aims to understand the mutual, relational experience between a doctor and patient, through analysis of the stories that doctors working in end of life care tell about their work with patients who are suffering.

These stories may shed light on the dynamic exchange that allows doctors to connect, or not, with patients and how this connection assists in the relief of suffering.
