The Youth Cancer Centre (located on Level 1 of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Parkville) provides a comfortable and relaxed clinical and supportive care hub for young people and their families.
Young people can relax here while waiting for hospital appointments or to see a member of the ONTrac at Peter Mac team, or to take time away from the ward if they are staying in hospital.
Featuring a patient and family lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, work/study nooks and semi-private rest spaces, the Youth Cancer Centre houses a broad range of information and resources that can be accessed or borrowed during hospital stays (e.g. books, games, art supplies, PlayStations, DVD players and DVDs, VR headsets).
The Youth Cancer Centre also provides a space that supports the implementation of our group programs, and includes a multipurpose room used for everything from movie nights to a yoga or music studio.
COVID-19: Please note that while the Youth Cancer Centre remains open for patients and their families, the availability of some resources within the Centre and for patient use on the wards has been affected. For more information contact Tara Paris at (03) 8559 6880.
