With Victoria recording 12 days with no new COVID-19 cases, we are further easing restrictions on visitors to the hospital

We know how important it is to have a loved one around, so Peter Mac is updating its guidance on visitors.

Following an announcement by the Victorian Government at the weekend, from Thursday 12 November, the new COVID-19 visitor restrictions will be as follows:

  • One household can visit a patient in hospital once per day for 2 hours.
  • People aged 16 and under are no longer considered excluded persons.

All visitors will need to register at screening points on entry. We also require all visitors to the hospital to wear a mask, practice physical distancing and maintain good hand hygiene.

Please do not visit – and get tested – if you have even mild symptoms of COVID-19.

There are slightly different arrangements available for people in palliative care. You can speak with the Nurse Unit Manager about this.

Patients attending clinic appointments or day treatments can also continue to bring one support person with them to the Parkville hospital, or Peter Mac campuses.

Please note that we ask all visitors to limit their movement around the hospital when visiting.
