With Victorians doing so well to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are moving to allow visitors back to Peter Mac.

We know how important it is to have a loved one around.

There are still quite strict limits in place – which have been put there by the Victorian Government on health advice.

However, from Saturday 19 September we will now be allowing one visitor per patient, for one hour, once a day (please see information sheet).

This is in line with rules published by the Department of Health and Human Services, which are available here.

All visitors will need to register at screening points on entry. We also require all visitors to the hospital to wear a mask, practice physical distancing and maintain good hand hygiene.

Please do not visit – and get tested – if you have even mild symptoms of COVID-19.

There are slightly different arrangements available for people in palliative care. You can speak with the Nurse Unit Manager about this.

Patients attending clinic appointments or day treatments can also continue to bring one support person with them to the Parkville hospital, or Peter Mac campuses.

Please note that we ask all visitors to limit their movement around the hospital when visiting.
