Peter Mac is pleased to have reopened our Wellbeing Centre for patients, families and carers. With COVID Safe measures in place, the Centre remains a safe place to find peace and calm between appointments or visits.
As Melbourne's coronavirus restrictions ease, Peter Mac is pleased to announce that we have reopened our Wellbeing Centre on Level 1 of the VCCC building in Parkville. In line with our Safe Management Plan and various COVID Safe measures that are in place, the Centre remains a safe and welcoming place for patients, families and carers to find peace and calm between appointments or visits.
With comfortable seating, sleep pods, quiet space and an outdoor garden space, the Centre is designed to be a relaxing sanctuary from treatment and the stresses associated with having cancer. Current amenities also include complimentary tea, coffee and light refreshments, a family room, charging stations, and volunteer support.
The Wellbeing Centre is just one component of Peter Mac's wellbeing model and ongoing strategy to integrate cancer prevention and wellbeing interventions into our work and the community. Developed in partnership with our patients, the community, clinicians and researchers, the wellbeing model complements our clinical care with services and resources to support social and psychological health. It aims always to be responsive to the needs of our patients.
