Collingwood has taken out the 26th Peter Mac Cup, beating Carlton by 20 points at the MCG on Sunday (11-13-79 to 9-5-59).
The Pies may have reclaimed the trophy but Carlton still tops the Peter Mac Cup leader board with 14 wins to Collingwood’s 12 since the cup began in 1993.
The focus of the 2018 match was to get the word out about the Peter Mac Foundation’s Unite to Fight Cancer ride, walk and run on October 28.
Ahead of Sunday’s match, AFL stars Jack Silvagni from Collingwood and Brodie Grundy from Carlton visited Peter Mac to chat with patients and share tips for making healthy smoothies.
The players met patients including Jess Van Zeil, who is in training both to do the Kokoda Trail in September and Unite to Fight Cancer in October.
