An anonymous Melbourne donor has gifted three quarters of a million dollars to Peter Mac to expand “PathOS”, a highly powered data and analytical software system at the fore of next-generation personalised medicine.
Three internationally recognised Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre professors Stephen Fox, Miles Prince and David Bowtell have been formally inducted into the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, joining an elite group of researchers to be bestowed the honour.
Around 500 young cancer patients each year will have access to a youth-focused, high-tech haven as part of their care at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, in its new ‘You Can’ youth cancer centre funded by Sony Foundation Australia.
Peter McNeil is from Eagle Point near Bairnsdale in Victoria. He is being treated at Peter Mac on a clinical trial of combination immunotherapy for advanced stage Melanoma led by Professor Grant McArthur.
