School science outreach activities

Peter Mac runs exciting, interactive science activities throughout the year for budding researchers to get a taste of life in the laboratory.

What we offer

These activities include:

  • school work experience (note places are limited)
  • laboratory science visits
  • science activities to suit the special interests of the school's science students.

Work experience

Students interested in work experience are required to send an email expressing their interest in the program, providing information about the dates they are available for the work experience program.

NOTE: Students must be at least 16 years of age at the time of undertaking a work experience placement.

All places for work experience in 2018 are fully booked, with a waiting list for additional places.

Email any enquiries to the Research Education team, including information about the dates you are required to undertake work experience.

Career information

Students who want to pursue a career in biomedical research have many different career options.

Our researchers and students can come to your school to share their experiences about their research and careers. They also share this experience during school visits to Peter Mac.

We list some of the options and the education requirements for working in those careers.

Our current and past research students tell us what studying at Peter Mac means to them.
