    Peter Mac has a dedicated HMO Manager who coordinates and warmly welcomes 25 HMOs on secondment every 10-13 weeks from the Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. 

    Our long term, well-established program for these rotating doctors, ensures the best experience is provided during the rotation to these Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) accredited roles.

    Peter Mac has a very strong cohort of 76 Registrars – 68 of which are directly appointed in a true merit listed process in conjunction with the Clinical Directors, clinical supervisors and the Medical Workforce Unit.  A further 8 Registrars are rotated from our parent hospitals – Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and the Skin and Cancer Foundation.

    Anaesthetics = 10 Registrars
    6 Non-Accredited, 3 Accredited, 1 Senior Registrar (all direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Dermatology = 3 Registrars
    3 Accredited (2 direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Haematology = 15 Registrars
    7 Accredited Clinical Haematology Registrars (1 also attends Bendigo Health part-time)
    7 Accredited Laboratory Haematology Registrars (all direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Medical Oncology = 6 Registrars
    6 Accredited Registrars (all direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Medical (BPTs) = 3 Registrars
    3 Accredited Registrars (on rotation from Royal Melbourne Hospital)

    Infectious Diseases = 2 Registrars
    2 Accredited Registrars (direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Palliative Care = 3 Registrars
    3 Accredited Registrars (2 direct Peter Mac appointments, 1 on rotation from St Vincent’s Hospital)

    Pathology = 1 Registrar
    1 Accredited Anatomical Pathology Registrar (direct Peter Mac appointment)

    Plastic Surgery = 3 Registrars
    1 Accredited Registrar, 2 Non-Accredited Registrars (all direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Psychiatry = 2 Registrars
    2 Accredited Registrars (both on rotation from St Vincent’s Hospital)

    Radiation Oncology = 20 Registrars
    20 Accredited Registrars (all direct Peter Mac appointments)

    Radiology = 5 Registrars
    4 Nuclear Medicine Registrars, 1 Radiology Registrar

    Surgery = 2 Registrars
    1 Cancer Surgery Registrar (on rotation from St Vincent’s Hospital), 1 ENT Registrar (direct Peter Mac appointment)
     

    Peter Mac has a cohort of approximately 48 Fellow roles (this can vary from year to year), which are highly competitive.  These positions are directly appointed in a true merit listed process in conjunction with the Clinical Directors, and the Medical Workforce Unit.
