Coming to Peter Mac in an ambulance
30 September 2024
The “Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT)” service provides an ambulance to transport eligible patients from home to their medical appointments, or between hospitals.
The service is operated by Ambulance Victoria and is for patients who require clinical monitoring, care, or supervision during travel but do not need an emergency ambulance.
The Victorian Department of Health has issued new guidance about eligibility for this service, and this takes effect from today (30 September 2024)
While most Peter Mac patients who have used the NEPT service in the past will continue to do so, some patients may need to consider other transport options and support is available.
For more information see this Patient Guide to NEPT.
