Services Provided Diseases Treated Clinical Staff The Peter Mac Lung Service provides comprehensive consultative and treatment services for patients with lung and mediastinal tumours. Features of the Peter Mac Lung Service include: Positron emission tomography (PET) scanning for diagnosis, staging and follow-up evidence-based and investigational treatment of thoracic malignancies including:   multi-modality approaches such as concomitant radiotherapy and chemotherapy novel chemotherapy and biological agents Full range of thoracic surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques. Weekly comprehensive multidisciplinary meeting to discuss all new patients. Diseases treated include all types and stages of: lung cancer tracheal tumours mesothelioma pulmonary metastases mediastinal tumours chest wall and sternal tumours pleural and pericardial diseases and effusions Expertise in, and on-site administration of, concomitant chemotherapy and radiation for patients with small cell lung cancer and inoperable non?small cell lung cancer 3-Dimensional conformal radiotherapy treatment planning and delivery Intensity modulated radiotherapy. PET scanning for more accurate staging and treatment planning of patients with non-small cell lung cancer Endoscopic surgery including:   laser resection stenting intraluminal brachtherapy Minimally invasive surgical procedures including VATS lobectomy Participation in national and international clinical trials of novel therapeutic combinations.
