                   Bed No: Dependent on patient activity and acuity
                   Specialties: Intensive Care
                   Patient Group: A mixture of medical and surgical oncology, high dependency and intensive care patients

  • Full time Clinical Nurse Educator/Equipment Nurse
  • 24/24 medical cover in ICU
  • Participation in interactive ward rounds with a focus on education
  • ICU Nurses are members of the MET/Code Blue Response Team
  • ICU Nurses engaged in ongoing professional development opportunites at multiple levels
  • Access to a wealth of oncology expertise and educational resources

Support for Staff:
We encourage and support ongoing professional development through:

  • No cost 6 month High Dependency Nursing Course, including structured study days and University of Melbourne accreditation
  • Critical Care Course in conjunction with the University of Melbourne, including rotations to St Vincent’s Hospital ICU
  • Access to a Certificate in Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing conducted by PeterMac with credit to Postgraduate Diploma through the University of Melbourne
  • Rotational placements for Graduate Nurses undertaking the Peter Mac Graduate Year Program
  • Fee remission scholarships for nurses undertaking tertiary level studies
