Associate Professor Michael Michael
MBBS(Hons), BSc(Hons), FRACP, MD

A/Professor Michael graduated from Monash University, and completed specialist training in medical oncology in 1995.

He spent two years as an Oncology Fellow at the Princess Margaret Hospital/Ontario Cancer Institute.

Michael returned to Peter Mac as a consultant medical oncologist specialising in Gastro-intestinal Oncology. He is a member of the Australian Gastrointestinal Tumor Trials Group and TransTasman Radiation Oncology Group. He has published over 60 articles and book chapters and is a reviewer for several oncology journals and funding bodies. He has a strong commitment in clinical and laboratory research in gastro-intestinal oncology.

Chair of Colorectal Services
Assoc. Professor Craig Lynch MBChB, MMedSci, FRACS, FCSSANZ, FASCRS(int)

Assoc. Professor Lynch is a Colorectal Surgeon at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Associate Professor at The University of Melbourne.

He completed his General Surgical Fellowship in New Zealand, with post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, and St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. He holds a Masters degree in surgery and has published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts.

He is a Fellow of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand and International Fellow of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons. His current clinical practice includes the management of patients with advanced rectal cancer, and cytoreductive surgery with intraperitoneal chemotherapy. He has extensive laparoscopic surgical experience and recently completed the first series of robotic colorectal procedures in Australia at Peter Mac.
