Undergraduate Nursing Clinical Placement Program

Undergraduate Nursing Clinical Placement Program - Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

The Peter Mac Nursing Service is committed to the development of the nursing profession and to providing nursing students with a positive supported generalist clinical experience. Peter Mac offers placement to Year 2 and 3 undergraduate nursing students from a variety of tertiary institutions, in a range of acute care clinical settings including inpatient wards, Operating Suite, Peter Mac @ Home (community nursing) and Intensive Care.

Clinical placements play an important role in preparing health students for their part in the future health workforce. The Victorian Clinical Placements Council (VCPC) has been established to lead clinical placement initiatives in Victoria, and is supported by the work of 11 local Clinical Placement Networks (CPNs).

Peter Mac is part of the Central Metropolitan Clinical Placement Network (Central Metropolitan CPN), which has been established to support clinical education activities in inner Melbourne. For further information regarding the VCPC or clinical placement network initiatives, please see information at this link: http://www.health.vic.gov.au/vcpc/index.htm
