Featuring Associate Professor Ross Hannan on the cover, the 2012 Peter Mac Research Report is now available online. Associate Professor Hannan was integral to one of Peter Mac's biggest research stories of 2012: his theory that ribosome biogenesis can be targeted in pre-clinical models to selectively kill cancer cells, while sparing healthy cells, led to the development of a world-first compound that is being tested in clinical trials at Peter Mac this year. The report features a new 'Scope of research at Peter Mac' diagram, crystallising the work involved in enabling and conducting research at Peter Mac, directly informing more effective treatments and improved care for people with cancer, their families and carers.
