Current Students - Research at Peter Mac

Peter Mac believe that providing the best possible facilities for cutting edge research and scientific education, as well as commitment to thorough research training enables us to bring out the best in young scientists.

Students at Peter Mac are supervised by full-time researchers who hold associate appointments at universities including The University of Melbourne and Monash. Our supervisors therefore, are not only experienced in student supervision and training, but they also work in laboratories alongside their students. In addition, our laboratories are open plan, and this creates an environment that encourages students to develop collaborative approaches to their work, as well as seek advice and reassurance from researchers both within and outside their project area.

Students in the Research Division are supported by the Research Education Coordinator. This Coordinator is available to support students during their research training, as well as provide advice on funding, scholarships opportunities, and career options after graduation.

Students development at the Peter Mac is supported with professional skills development workshops on a range of topics organized by the postgraduate student society and the Research Education and Careers Committee, and the Education and Communication Coordinator.

Each year we offer a seminar series on 'Topics in Cancer Biology'. Lectures are given by the leaders in the fields in Australia, from within the Research Division and from affiliated Research Institutes.

In these pages we provide information about student life at the Peter Mac, projects undertaken by our students, resources for students, the Student Society pages and their events as well as up coming events.
