Association with Department of Haematology and Medical Oncology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre allows a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, management and supportive care.

Specific disciplines included onsite are:
• Radiation Oncology
• Specialist oncology nursing
• Social work
• Pastoral Care
• Palliative Care

Different types of cancers treated by the Paediatric Oncology Service include:
• Brain tumours
• Bone and soft tissue sarcoma
• Neuroblastoma
• Leukaemia
• Wilm’s tumour
• Retinoblastoma

Services provided included:
• Consultation
• Evaluation
• Treatment and management of paediatric malignancies requiring radiation therapy in a radical, prophylactic or palliative setting.

• Largest paediatric radiotherapy centre in Australia
• Multidisciplinary consultation and management
• Integrated patient care and clinical translational research programs in association with The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre
• Participation in National and International cooperative paediatric clinical trial groups allowing access to latest protocols and advances
• Access to and experience with innovative and novel therapeutic options, such as 3D conformal radiation planning, intensity modulated radiation therapy and stereotactic radiation therapy
